۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
