The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 And he speaketh not of his own desire. 3 It is a revelations which has been revealed to him 4 something that a very powerful one has imparted to him, 5 The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. 6 When he was on the uppermost horizon. 7 and then drew near, and came close, 8 Till he was two bows length off or yet nearer. 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. 11 Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? 12 Indeed, he saw him in another descent 13 by the Lote-Tree of the Boundary 14 Near it is the Garden of Refuge - 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have you then considered the Lat and the Uzza, 19 And Manat, the other third (of the pagan deities)? 20 Why - for yourselves [you would choose only] male offspring, whereas to Him [you assign] female: 21 that, lo and behold, is an unfair division! 22 These [allegedly divine beings] are nothing but empty names which you have invented - you and your forefathers - [and] for which God has bestowed no warrant from on high. They [who worship them] follow nothing but surmise and their own wishful thinking - although right guidance has now indeed come unto them from their Sustainer. 23 Or is there for man whatever he wishes? 24 Allah's is the last and the first. 25
