Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant rain from the sky, 11 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
