The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
