[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 And let him share my task 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and remember You much: 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel.
