The Parties (Al-Ahzaab)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ O Prophet, fear God, and obey not the unbelievers and the hypocrites. God is All-knowing, All-wise. 1 And follow what is revealed to thee from thy Lord; surely God is aware of the things you do. 2 And put thy trust in Allah and Allah sufficeth as a Trustee. 3 God has not placed two hearts in any man's body, nor has He made your wives -- from whom you keep away by saying, "Be as my mother's back" -- your [real] mothers, neither He has made your adopted sons as your own sons. These are merely words which you utter with your mouths: but God speaks the truth and gives guidance to the right path. 4 Proclaim their real parentage. That will be more equitable in the sight of Allah. And if ye know not their fathers, then (they are) your brethren in the faith, and your clients. And there is no sin for you in the mistakes that ye make unintentionally, but what your hearts purpose (that will be a sin for you). Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 5 The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers. And those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allah than the [other] believers and the emigrants, except that you may do to your close associates a kindness [through bequest]. That was in the Book inscribed. 6 And recall what time We took a bond from the prophets and from thee and from Nuh and Ibrahim and Musa and 'Isa son of Maryam. And We took from them a solemn bond; 7 So that He may question the truthful regarding their truth; and He has kept prepared a painful punishment for the disbelievers. 8
