and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
