The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 it is no merriment. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
