Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
