The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
