Say: 'I am only a warner. There is not any god but God, the One, the Omnipotent, 65 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. 66 Say: 'It is a mighty tiding 67 To which you pay no heed. 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 had it not been revealed unto me [by God] - to no other end than that I might convey [unto you] a plain warning. 70 When your Lord told the angels, "I will create a mortal out of clay, 71 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him prostrate. 72 The angels fell down prostrate, every one, 73 But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said He: "O Iblis! What has kept thee from prostrating thyself before that [being] which I have created with My hands? Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being,] or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?" 75 He replied: “I am nobler than he. You created me from fire and created him from clay.” 76 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 77 And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense." 78 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 79 (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite 80 Until the Day of the time well-known." 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 Say: 'I ask of you no wage for it, neither am I of those who take things upon themselves. 86 It is nothing but a reminder unto all beings, 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
