Al-Zukhruf 4 of 7
Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 And indeed those devils prevent them from the Straight Path, and they think they are on guidance! 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 On that Day it will not profit you in the least [to know] that, since you have sinned [together,] you are now to share your suffering [as well]. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them. 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Therefore, hold fast to that which is revealed to you, indeed, you are on the Straight Path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 Ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before you, "Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent One?" 45

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
