We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Yet these say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
