Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 noble, recording, 11 who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
