The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
