THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 And saved them and their people from great distress, 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 We granted them a Clear Book, 117 And guided them to the Right Path; 118 and left them thus to be remembered among later generations: 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 121 They are among Our faithful devotees. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?' 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And Lut was most surely of the apostles. 133 [So mention] when We saved him and his family, all, 134 Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind. 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 And surely ye pass by them in the morning. 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138
