Is he whose bosom Allah hath expanded for Al-Islam, so that he followeth a light from his Lord, (as he who disbelieveth)? Then woe unto those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allah. Such are in plain error. 22 God bestows from on high the best of all teachings in the shape of a divine writ fully consistent within itself, repeating each statement [of the truth] in manifold forms [a divine writ] whereat shiver the skins of all who of their Sustainer stand in awe: [but] in the end their skins and their hearts do soften at the remembrance of [the grace of] God. Such is God's guidance: He guides therewith him that wills [to be guided] whereas he whom God lets go astray can never find any guide 23 Is he then, who will confront with his face the awful torment on the Day of Resurrection (as he who enters peacefully in Paradise)? And it will be said to the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.): "Taste what you used to earn!" 24 Those before them belied, wherefore the torment came on them whence they knew not. 25 So Allah gave them a taste of humiliation in the present life, but greater is the punishment of the Hereafter, if they only knew! 26 THUS, INDEED, have We propounded unto men all kinds of parables in this Qur'an, so that they might bethink themselves; [and We have revealed it] 27 It is an Arabic Qur'an free of all crookedness that they may guard against their evil end. 28 Allah propoundeth a similitude: man having several partners, quarelling, and a man wholly belonging to one man. Are the two equal in likeness? All praise unto Allah. But most of them know not. 29 (Muhammad), you will die and all of them will also die. 30 and then, behold, on the Day of Resurrection you all shall place your dispute before your Sustainer. 31
