Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
