The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 on a fateful Day. 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
