The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who establish proper ranks. 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
