3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
