The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
