And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 Then after them, We created other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
