۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
