Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
