And said a Muslim man from the people of Firaun, who used to hide his faith, “What! You want to kill a man just because he says, ‘Allah is my Lord’ whereas he has indeed brought clear signs to you from your Lord? And supposedly if he is speaking wrongly, then the calamity of wrongful speech is upon him; and if he is truthful, then part of what he promises you will reach you; indeed Allah does not guide any transgressor, excessive liar.” 28 O my people, today the kingdom is yours, who are masters in the land. But who will help us, against the might of God, if it comes upon us?' Said Pharaoh, 'I only let you see what I see; I only guide you in the way of rectitude.' 29 And he who believed said: O my people! Lo! I fear for you a fate like that of the factions (of old); 30 Like the wont of the people of Nuh and A'ad and Thamud and those after them, and God intendeth not any wrong unto His bondmen. 31 "And O my people! I fear for you a Day when there will be Mutual calling (and wailing),- 32 the day you turn about, retreating, having none to defend you from God; and whomsoever God leads astray, no guide has he. 33 Joseph came to you before with clear signs, but you never ceased to doubt the message he brought you. When he died, you said, 'God will not send another messenger.'"" In this way God leaves the transgressors and doubters to go astray -- 34 those who dispute the revelations of God without having received clear authority. This act greatly angers God and the believers. Thus does God seal the hearts of every arrogant oppressor." 35 The Pharaoh said: "O Haman, build me a lofty tower that I may perhaps find the means 36 "The ways of the heavens, and I may look upon the Ilah (God) of Musa (Moses) but verily, I think him to be a liar." Thus it was made fair-seeming, in Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the (Right) Path, and the plot of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) led to nothing but loss and destruction (for him). 37
