The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those of the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
