The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by this city, Makkah - 1 And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city - 2 and by parent and offspring, 3 Verily We have created man into toil and hardship. 4 Thinketh he, that none hath power over him? 5 He says, "I have spent enormous wealth." 6 Does man think that no one saw him? 7 Have We not made for him two eyes 8 And a tongue and two lips? 9 and guided him on the two highways? 10 But he did not venture to scale the difficult steep. 11 and what shall teach thee what is the steep? 12 (It is:) freeing the bondman; 13 Or the giving of food in a day of privation 14 To an orphan near of kin. 15 or to a needy person in distress; 16 then that he become of those who believe and counsel each other to be steadfast, and counsel each other to be merciful. 17 Those are the companions of the right. 18 and [as for] those who are bent on denying the truth of Our revelations, they are the people of the left hand, 19 Fire will be an awning over them. 20
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
