And when We put a revelation in place of (another) revelation, - and Allah knoweth best what He revealeth - they say: Lo! thou art but inventing. Most of them know not. 101 Tell them: "It is the spirit of holiness that has brought it down, by stages, from your Lord so that it might bring firmness to those who believe, and guidance to the Right Way, and give glad tidings of felicity and success to those who submit to Allah." 102 Yet We know what they say: "It is only a man who instructs him." The speech of the man they imply is obscure while this is clear Arabic. 103 Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah – Allah does not guide them, and for them is a punishment, most painful. 104 They alone invent lies who do not believe in the words of God, and they are liars. 105 He who disbelieves in Allah after his having believed, not he who is compelled while his heart is at rest on account of faith, but he who opens (his) breast to disbelief-- on these is the wrath of Allah, and they shall have a grievous chastisement. 106 This is because the worldly life was dearer to them than the Hereafter; and because Allah does not guide such disbelieving people. 107 Those -- God has set a seal on their hearts, and their hearing, and their eyes, and those -- they are the heedless ones; 108 without a doubt, in the world to come they will be the losers. 109 ۞ Then, indeed your Lord, to those who emigrated after they had been compelled [to renounce their religion] and thereafter fought [for the cause of Allah] and were patient - indeed, your Lord, after that, is Forgiving and Merciful 110
