The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
