The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
