Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 And saved them and their people from the great distress, 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 And showed them the right path. 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 'Peace be upon Moses and Aaron' 120 This is how We reward those who do good: 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 He said to his people, "Have you no fear [of God?] 124 Do you call on Ba'lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment),- 127 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 save an old woman among those that tarried; 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine].
