He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 So you are after him! 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 you ignore him. 10 Not this way – this is the advice. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then split the earth in clefts 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 Olives and dates, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
