The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
