The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
