And whosoever blindeth himself to the admonition of the Compassionate, We assign unto him a satan, and he becometh his companion. 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 Because of the harm you did, it would be of no benefit to you today, you are partners in the punishment. 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 We shall inflict retribution on them, whether We take you away from the world (before We do that), 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 Ask those of Our Messengers We sent before thee: Have We appointed, apart from the All-merciful, gods to be served? 45
