Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About the guilty: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 we fed not the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as if they were startled asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
