The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
