Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other). 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 about what they did. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
