O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 My revelations were recited to you, but you turned your backs 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
