HENCE, [remember how it was] when thy Sustainer summoned Moses: "Go unto those evil doing people. 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
