The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
