Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 And share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 Go, you and your brother with My signs, and do not be negligent of My Remembrance. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
