Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 We helped them and they were victorious. 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 And showed them the right path. 118 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]. 135 Then We utterly destroyed the rest of them. 136 And indeed you pass over them in the morning. – 137 And during the night; so do you not have sense? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
