The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and continuous shade, 30 And water poured out 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
