Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
