The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
