The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
