The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
