And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 About their deeds. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
